Composition Competition

In memory of Elisabet Gran-Pedersen, Cello teacher.

Ostfold Music Council, in collaboration with Ny Musikk (New Music) in Ostfold and Musikk-Husets Forlag A/S, announces a competition for a work for 3-5 cellos.

Duration: 5-10 minutes

At least one of the parts must have a lower degree of difficulty

1 instrument may be chosen in addition (including human voice)

1st prize: 28,000 NOK and publication by Musikk-Husets Forlag A/S and Performance at VinterRissFestivalen in 2009. 2nd prize 10,000 NOK and Performance at VinterRissFestivalen in 2009.

Submission of Works:
(1) Compositions must be submitted anonymously, i.e. the score and other documents must not contain a signature or name. Candidates who do not win will not have their works returned.
(2) The score must be clearly marked with a special symbol for identification purposes. The score should be presented on a clearly legible and easily reproduced manuscript. A sealed envelope clearly marked with the work's special symbol must be submitted with the score. The envelope must contain the following information
The submitted work's special symbol
a short biography of the composer
telephone number, postal address and, if applicable, mail address and website
a photo of the composer the envelope will not be opened until after the jury's decision the competition is open for all, regardless of age and nationality.
