This semester's 24hc is going to be October 19-20 (Fri-Sat).
Here's the rundown:
Oct. 19 @ 7:30pm - all composers and (preferably) all performers meet (location TBA). Composers draw a number from a hat which tells them how many people are in their ensemble. Performers' names/instruments go into the hat, and composers draw the appropriate number of names/instruments...that's your ensemble.
Oct. 19 @ 8:00pm - composers begin writing music. The rules are: you must stay at the school (everyone gets their own room w/piano/computer/whatever). you may leave for up to one hour. if you leave for more than one hour, your piece will be deemed finished.
Oct. 20 @ 8:00am - all composers and performers meet, composers hand parts to performers. Performers begin practicing/rehearsing. It is up to the individual ensembles and their respective composers to arrange rehearsal times.
Oct. 20 @ 8:00pm - CONCERT in Cohen-Davison. It's a good time, generally a good crowd.
If you want to participate:
step1 --- find (at least) three performers. you may include yourself if you wish.
step2 --- email the NAMES, INSTRUMENTS, EMAILS, and PHONE NUMBERS of your performers to me. Please include your own contact info as well.
step3 --- tell everyone you know to come to the concert.
